Find balance with Amla Healing Arts in Bergen County

In a culture that idolizes exhaustion and excessive work, it’s a daring act to take time to care for yourself. You’re not alone if you struggle to find time for self-care within a hectic schedule of work, home, family, and friends. The result is that we carry our stress, anxiety, and concerns in our bodies. We internalize them into pain and chronic ailments.

Amla Healing Arts believes self-care is more than just a buzzword. It’s daring to go deeper into the mind/body connection to ease pain and heal ailments at the source. Our holistic, restorative care addresses the whole person, not just the superficial symptoms.

Through one-on-one healing appointments, we work with clients to move them towards a pain-free future, where they’re empowered participants in their body’s health.

Our unique healing approach

Years of international study inform Amla Healing Arts’ methods, including acupuncture and herbal medicine practice in Kathmandu, Nepal, and yearly pilgrimages to study medicinal plants in Peru. Our treatment techniques developed through the study of pain management and functional healing. We do more than simply treat symptoms; we address the flow and balance of energy through the body. Every appointment is unique, as we listen to your emergent concerns, and we’ll explain every step of treatment, so you’re versed in your body’s healing process.

Amla Healing Arts combines acupuncture, bodywork, and herbal medicine to form a strong energetic foundation for our clients’ future health. The goal is more than just the temporary alleviation of pain, but a new approach to mind and body care.

Two schools of study influence our acupuncture practice, both of which use a comprehensive approach for clinical efficacy.

The Balance Method by Dr. Richard Tan

Based on 2500 years of traditional Chinese medicine, the Balance Method uses an energetic human body model. It balances the meridians of interconnection between the body’s systems to treat chronic pain and trauma. The Balance Method uses a holistic approach and asks patients to be active participants in their healing process.

Master Tung’s Classical Acupuncture

This esteemed acupuncture system was a closely guarded secret of the Tung family, only shared with disciples beginning in the 1960s. The simple and effective methods use a five-channel system of diagnosis and treatment, unlike traditional acupuncture, which operates with 14.

Our treatment specialties.

We’ll work with you to address the source of your symptoms with a combination of therapeutics for the mind and body.
